Players from 23 clubs participate in annual county tennis championships

The 2025 Gloucestershire County Tennis Championships were held from 24th to 29th August, with 29 events taking place over a mostly dry week with a reasonable supply of sunshine.
This event provides a showcase of all the players from the different clubs across the county, with 23 Gloucestershire venues represented.
The focus of the organising committee remains on making the event a friendly, sociable, and inclusive tournament, where players and parents come together for a celebratory week. This was achieved with a good atmosphere amongst players, parents, and officials throughout the week.
A selection of the winners and runners-up
It’s generally accepted that singles and doubles are very different forms of the game. This has been reinforced many times during the week. Countless doubles matches went the distance, proving the adage that the gap between players does close when doubles is played.
A big story of the week was Sam Austin’s defence of the open singles and doubles titles. Well done, Sam. Also deserving special mention is Benji Shaw, who picked up three titles.
The following players won two titles: Noah Baghai, Mia Bloxham, Jonah Harmer, Eva Haynes, Venai Minnaar, Olivia Shaw, Romeo Tobias, and Jess Wooddisse.
Well done to all winners, runners-up, and everyone who competed throughout the week.
