Tennis ladders: Hints and tips

The tennis ladders are a key part of club life, enabling you to enjoy your tennis in a competitive yet friendly environment. Here are some hints and tips to help you, your opponents and the organisers.

1. Please make sure you have time

To organise and play your matches before entering the next period’s ladder, including enough time to play three tie-break sets. If you’ll be away for an extended period, let the organiser know, and when you’d like to go back in.

2. Injury or withdrawal for other reasons

Please contact the organiser to let them know if you want to be in the next period. Also, please amend the sheet on the notice board.

3. Please flag up any issues

Please tell the organiser or reception during the first seven days if there are any issues. Please do likewise before the ladders end, as it’s difficult to make changes once they are up.

4. Removal policy

If you don’t play any games for two consecutive ladder periods, you’ll be removed from the ladder unless you have contacted your organiser and made your case to remain.

5. The rules

Here’s a link to the rules. They are there to enable you to take part in fairly matched, competitive, friendly, and enjoyable games, but they cannot cover every scenario completely.
