Be part of the CTC European adventure

Since 2023, East Glos has been a member of the Association of Centenary Tennis Clubs (CTC), an umbrella group comprising 78 clubs in 24 countries across five continents.
All member clubs have a history dating back at least one hundred years. The CTC is a fraternity with a shared love and passion for tennis, promoting international friendship.
This year, for the first time, East Glos will be competing in CTC events. We’ve now assembled a team for the Paris and Edgbaston events in September. However, we still have places for the Berlin event.

Surrounded by the Grunewald Forest and the shores of Lake Hundekehlesee, the club is a leafy green oasis set amid the diplomatic quarter of the city. Your visit will begin with a welcome breakfast at the club, followed by a full day of tennis. Rot Weiss will then host a sumptuous dinner for the participants in their grand slam club restaurant.
Like several other affiliated clubs, Rot Weiss has played a significant role in developing tennis. By 1911, it had become the host of the German national championships. By the 1920s, it had established itself as the venue for the German Davis Cup matches.
In 1997, the stadium court was rebuilt to accommodate 7,000 spectators, and it is once again the home of the WTA 500 Berlin Ladies Open. In 2004, the stadium court was named in honour of club member Steffi Graf, who had won the national title on nine occasions. In addition to the stadium court, the club boasts a further 18 high-quality clay courts.
Not only is this a wonderful opportunity for club members to represent East Glos at one of the leading clubs in Europe, but it’s also a chance to enjoy a sparkling and lively city. Since the fall of the Berlin Wall and reunification, the city has undergone a transformation and now takes its place among the leading cities of Europe. This is the perfect opportunity to combine tennis with an extended weekend in a famous city environment.
